This video is insane!! I love the way it makes you feel at the end, along with you constantly questioning what is happening throughout the entire time you are watching. I want to someday produce a video just like this.

Seeing Double, Picture Comparisons

This picture was taken by Steve McCurry. He travels the world and takes pictures, mostly of people. He has lots of interesting pictures that you and look at Here. The specific gallery that I found this picture in is Seeing Double, where he contrasts two different but similar pictures. I really love the stories behind his pictures and the different cultures shown in them.

HAVE AN ANANICE DAY (RISOGRAPH)

Together with 39 other artists I was asked again for the 3d time to take part in the cool risograph project: RISOGRAFIA #3 : MARCH TO THE BEAT OF A DIFFERENT DRUMMER by the fantastic people of the infamous print studio TOPO COPY from Gent, Belgium. And this yellow/blue pineapple buddy with maracas came out.

It's that time of year again, well almost. Christmas is approaching and Vintage Christmas paintings come to my mind. I really like the cold and warm feeling I get from this painting. The cold from the weather outside and the warmth from the lights inside and smoke billowing from the chimney. Check out Thomas Kinkade Paintings to see more.

I really like this because it shows a galaxy flowing from the water bottle into a glass. I really like the detail and composition of this piece as well.

Double Exposure

Double exposure is such a great way to add emotional effect to a photo. The girl is focusing on the camera at first and it captures her essence. She then looses interest and turns her head away. Such a simple idea, but very effective!

I love how the artist took one object and made it look like something else. I thought this was very creative!

Currently learning about the great Salvador Dali. Do a quick google search and look at all of his work and tattoos he has inspired !

Stop Motion

So this week I decided to post about stop motion videos. I find them extremely impressive and if you think about the amount of work put into them, it's almost overwhelming. I thought I'd include different types of videos, 2 music videos and 1 short film. Though they are all stop motion, I feel they all convey a very different feel.

This video uses clay to make imaginary creatures in a surreal environment.

Oren Lavie - Her Morning Elegance

This video moves the subjects in a real, static environment to give a sense of movement and travel.

At first glance you could be positive that the video is actually animated, but it is in fact stop motion. Also be warned it's not normal. But it looks cool so.

When I was searching for inspiration this week for blog I came across a digital artist blog, which I thought was interesting because he explained how he changed his career from photography to digital art because he couldn't capture what was in his head. This is cool, and a lot of people can probably relate because its really hard to decide one career path and stick with it.

More Shadow Art

I love the idea of shadow art because the artist can take something that is not very aesthetically pleasing and create something beautiful.  The bottom two pieces are made from materials that you could find in a trash can, but the shadows created are unbelievable.  The top piece is my favorite by Rashad Alakbarov because it adds the extra aspect of colors in the shadow on the wall.  To see more you can visit http://www.catinwater.com/2012/08/21/rashad-alakbarov-paints-with-shadows-and-light/.

Ive always loved the city but never could live in it.

This road gives me an uneasy feeling due to it
being so different from the normal.

I love knowing so much movement was captured, leaving 

you to imagine it. Bridges always make me nervous when 

crossing but they are so beautiful.

Amazing Photographer

This is Katerina Plotnikova. She's an amazing photographer who I originally was going to base my concentration off of. I couldn't find a website or anything of her but you should look up her other work because its all gorgeous.

Neon Bricks

Here is a picture i took in the court yard. I really like the way the inverted bricks in the background turned out. And the color that the cut out left behind, i also like the contrast between the purple and the blues.

I really like the forced perspective on this picture and how the basketball looks like its going into the basket. I also like the lighting and background of this picture and how it all blends together.

Movie Poster

Considering that we just finished making movie posters in class and the amount of people blogging about movie poster, I decided to join in on the fun by searching for a intriguing movie poster myself and discovered this. Scrolling thought a list of posters this one caught my attention over the rest, I find myself enjoying the face inside of a face concept as it truly captures my curiosity.

To annually celebrate the local youth house culture I made a poster illustration for DAG VAN DE JEUGDHUIZEN ( Youth House Day ) in Flanders, Belgium. I love doing stuff like this.

Jon Lock

I love when people draw on the computer, This artist is Jon-Lock (http://jon-lock.deviantart.com/ and jonn-lock.tumblr.com/). He has beautiful color bending skills. His art is light and inspiring. I especially love his nature scenes, I recommend checking him out.

A Corny Corn-Less Train Wreck

         

          This poster is the culmination of the tumultuous train-wreck that was my movie trailer project. Upon seeing this poster you might think, "It doesn't look that bad", but this poster is the metaphorical diamond in the rough that was my project. We maybe completed 75% of our shots and at least half of them had no sound. That being said, the shots we did get were executed with precision...the precision of a botched execution. I hope I will not have to repeat this onerous group task. I wont publicly place any of the blame on my group, but it's safe to say that we would never have been able to build the pyramids together. On an artistic and less scathing note, I enjoyed creating the poster for my movie campaign, even If it was for a corn-less corny remake of "Children of the Corn."

How beautiful... Double exposure really inspires me and can be so gorgeous and 

creative. I especially think that the first one is neat. Most double exposure pieces I've

seen only deal with one subject, but this artist chose three different people along with a separate subject for each one. Also, I really enjoy the second piece's color pallet.

I think this is a cool photo of the coral underwater with the fish surrounding it and the pop of colors make it stick out to me also 

WINDOW DRAWING (THE BIG DRAW)

For The Big Draw in Antwerp, a cool project that tries to get everyone drawing by doing all kinds of events, I made a big drawing on the window of the beautiful kids & women vintage store "Prinses Op De Erwt". Lots of fun. You can still spot the drawing at Graaf van Egmontstraat 1, Antwerp.

I found an amazing piece today on Tumblr. It's a digital painting of a shark-puppy hybrid that is so cute my eyes are gonna explode out of my face.

When I went to Tennessee, there were many graffiti artists using spray paint to make pictures. I was intrigued by the way they use lids and ordinary things to create these artworks. They do them very quickly too, Very talented. 

I like this picture because it looks very interesting to me I like how the car blends in its environment making it look like it was supposed to be there.

Movie posters

I was looking through movie posters and this one in particular caught my eye. The bright contrast and the eyes are what made me take a closer look. Also, I figure there must be something hidden or a mystery based off of the hand positioning.

           Not only am I really excited for the season to start, but also in lines with Dma this photograph has some nice qualities. I like how the main subject is more colorful than that of the background. Even with him being in the center of the photo, the angling of the camera and his board gives a nice dynamic.

Big Hero success?

only been in the theaters for 2 days and as of yesterday the brand new Disney movie Big Hero 6 had already accumulated 50 million dollars. The movie had a budget of 165 million but after this opening weekend it could very well top that within a week. If you haven't already seen this movie head on down to the theaters and watch it here is a trailer:

CRYING CURRENTLY.

My artwork was used in the poster for the art show for Xavier!! The red lanterns on the left in the middle is mine. So very humbling, #blessed.

Hullo artsy individuals! So this week I was really trying to find something to share that kind of connected with today's society or just our lives in general. Photography can make you feel many different emotions, sometimes all in the same instant. It can make you cry, laugh, sigh because it's that kind of beautiful you just cant explain, or even make you feel that gut wrenching anger in the pit of your stomach. Photography is life... in a way. When I saw these pictures I instantly saw the emotion in the faces of each individual, and each made me feel a certain way. So I guess the reason why I like these photographs is not only because they make you feel the emotion the people are portraying in the photo, but also because it's like peering into the window of their lives. This is one of the main reasons why, in my opinion, photography is one of the most powerful forms of art.
