I was looking up examples of animation, and a lot of the videos were either too advanced for us to make in flash, or were boring and simple. However, I found this short film titled "Man" by Steve Cutts. It is very simplistic in the animation style--he only used flash and after effects--but the story line is still powerful and thought provoking. I thought the sketched look of animation worked really well as well as the simple color scheme. Steve has made a lot of other short animations if you want to check out his channel:
