QUICKIE SELF-PORTRAIT + UPDATE

Sorry for the lack of posts here. Been working hard the past months, mostly doing a lot of various drawing projects and working on my animated series Elvis & Benny. Exciting stuff. Next to that travelled to the UK and Berlin with my girlfriend to hang out with some cool artists. I'm going to update about it soon because I did some fun collabs. In the meantime here's a quickie self-portrait.

LOU POSTER (ILLUSTRATION)

Illustrated happy wacky psychedelic monster parade poster for my friends Stijn & Leentje to celebrate the birth of their newborn daughter Lou. Snuck a little Bowie, Zappa and Devo reference in there as they are music lovers.

WHO POOPED ? ( ILLUSTRATION )

Based on a graffiti piece I improvised early this week for my mural collective Studio Entropica, I made this litte silly illustration. Quite the mystery.

Always carry a sketchbook and always keep on drawing and doodling for fun. Castle on a roll, I bet it would love the universe of M.C.Escher.

UNIQLO COASTER (illustration)

Made a coaster illustration to celebrate the opening of a new store of Japanese clothing brand Uniqlo in Antwerp. Great to collaborate with a company from Tokyo since I visited Japan this year and had a blast. The coasters were spread all over Antwerp.

CHARLEROI, PAYS NOIR - (ILLUSTRATION POSTER)

For the creative market event "6001 is the new 1060" in Charleroi, Belgium I made this poster.

"Le Pays Noir" is French for "The Black Country" which is a reference to the coal industry that made the region very successful in the 19th and 20th century before its downfall. Nowadays there are almost only abandoned factories. It is now a very poor place and even voted "Ugliest City in the World". A group of artists sees huge potential and organises a creative market once or twice a year. For the second time I took part in it and had a blast. So much energy, so many cool artists and wonderful people.

BRUSSEL BROST ( FESTIVAL POSTER )

For Brussels music festival BRUSSEL BROST in september I made this poster. It's a big outdoor party near the river, hence the nautical theme. It features dj's like Feder, Raving George, Bobby Ewing and more.

DAS MAGAZIN (EDITORIAL ILLUSTRATIONS)

Series of editorial illustrations I did for the upcoming issue of literary magazine DAS MAGAZIN from Amsterdam. They accompany short stories by writers Nina Weijers, Max Hermens and Owen Booth. Great fun !

OPEN AIR BRUSSELS PARTY (FLYER)

Poster for OPEN AIR summer party in Brussels with some industrial and vinyl themed stuff.

"VITE, CHANGE !" ( ILLUSTRATION )

For the group zine VITE by Brussels artist Dennis Mariën, who also happens to work at the Belgian Comic Strip Museum, I made these successive illustrated pages. Working around the theme "quick, change!" I was inspired by transformation and personal favorite pop culture references like Doraemon, David Cronenberg's "The Fly", Gremlins, Batman and transformer robots.

PULL & BEAR MACHINE

Here's a package design illustration I did for clothing store Pull & Bear a while ago. Fuelled by my love for crazy machines. Hand-drawn on paper, digitally coloured.

Together with 39 other artists I was asked again for the 3d time to take part in the cool risograph project: RISOGRAFIA #3 : MARCH TO THE BEAT OF A DIFFERENT DRUMMER by the fantastic people of the infamous print studio TOPO COPY from Gent, Belgium. And this yellow/blue pineapple buddy with maracas came out.

They also have a genius special edition frame made by HOUTD containing all 40 prints!
